THE KARMIC BLADE OF GONGYE ZHENG
The is a massive Dadao, and was briefly wielded by Qixia the
Butterfly during the uprising of Xuanlu. It was the executioner’s blade
intended to behead Qixia but missed on its first strike. During the rescue,
Qixia grabbed the blade and in her hands, it became something more. After the
initial battles of the rebellion, Qixia and Li Buwei realized its importance
entrusted it to Gongye Zheng to bring to Naqan. There it was placed in the Huo
Sea, deep in an underwater cave. According to some accounts, Gongye Zheng asked
the Enlightened Goddess to send a guardian to protect it, and he saw the waves
stir. Qixia and Li Buwei hoped to hide it in case their cause failed, so
another, worthy individual could wield it against the Demon Enperor.
The Karmic Blade of Gongye Zheng is very special. It is the
height of a fully grown man, but in the hands of a virtuous individual, it
feels light as a feather. It also always favors righteous people. As long as it
is wielded against a foe with lower Karma, the wielded suffers no -1d10
Accuracy Penalty or -1d10 Speed penalty usually associated with Dadao. However
if the wielder uses it against someone with higher Karma, then the blade feels
very heavy, imposing a -3d10 Accuracy Penalty and -3d10 Penalty to Speed. In
addition, when used against someone of lower Karma, it does 1 Extra Wound for
each rank of Karma higher the wielder is on a successful Damage roll. On a
Total Success it does 2 Extra Wounds per rank of Karma higher.
