TAI CHI ZERO REVIEW

Check out my review of Tai Chi Zero at easternKicks. It is the first in a two part wuxia movie that blends wuxia and steampunk, and is filmed in a sleek style that draws on comic book and video game aesthetics (and even the occasional silent film). Imprint Asia just put out a new Blu-ray so I was interested to see how it looks all these years after it first came out. Normally I don't find steampunk very interesting. Here I was impressed. Even though it is filled with whimsy and over-the-top style it is built off a backstory that gives the movie heart, and done in a way that is visually stunning.
